Speaking at Government House, Umuahia, during a courtesy visit by the new NDLEA State Commandant, Mr. Joseph Owoputi, Otti said over 90% of crime is linked to drug abuse and urged the National Assembly to strengthen existing laws. “We just need to crack the drug cartel. Once you deal with the source, crime disappears. Current laws are too lenient—mere counselling and rehabilitation are not enough punishment,” the Governor stated.
